Course aim
Give the team a habit of reading the safety data sheet, using the control that matches the product, and knowing what to do after a splash or a mercury spill.
What you will be able to do
- 1Recognise typical dental COSHH hazards, including those that look like ordinary cleaning products
- 2Use safety data sheets and labels, not memory, to choose controls
- 3Apply the hierarchy: eliminate, substitute, engineer, then PPE
- 4Act on splashes, mercury events and asthma-type symptoms without waiting for a crisis
Suitable for: the whole team, including reception and practice managers.
