• 1 hour verifiable CPD
  • Standalone course
  • Whole dental team
  • GDC outcomes A, D

A 1-hour course on what to do when something is unsafe, dishonest or abusive — including when the person causing the problem is the principal.

Course aim

Give every team member a lawful, patient-first way to raise a concern inside the practice and, when that fails or is impossible, outside it.

What you will be able to do

  1. 1Tell the difference between a gripe, a complaint, and a patient-safety or professionalism concern
  2. 2Use the practice raising-concerns route and keep a factual record
  3. 3Describe when GDC, CQC, the employer, or another body may need to hear it
  4. 4Support a colleague who speaks up, and avoid punishing the messenger

Use Start course below to begin at lesson 1. Later lessons unlock as you complete each step.

Suitable for: the whole team, including reception and practice managers.

Always follow current GDC guidance on raising concerns and your written whistleblowing policy. This course is knowledge CPD, not a verdict on a colleague.
