A 1-hour course on preventing fire in a dental building, getting people out, and knowing who does what when the alarm sounds.

Course aim

Give every team member a role in fire prevention and evacuation so patients with limited mobility are not left in a chair while staff argue about the assembly point.

What you will be able to do

  1. 1Describe how fire starts in dental premises and how to stop fuel, oxygen and ignition meeting
  2. 2Explain the responsible person, fire risk assessment, and what staff must be told
  3. 3Evacuate by the planned route, including patients with limited mobility, without using lifts
  4. 4Know when not to fight a fire, and how to report it afterwards

Use Start course below to begin at lesson 1. Later lessons unlock as you complete each step.

Suitable for: the whole team, including reception and practice managers.

Always follow your current fire risk assessment, local fire-service advice, and the fire-safety law that applies in your UK nation. This course is knowledge CPD, not a live drill.
