Course aim
Help new dentists refer for the right reason, with the right information, at the right speed — and not use secondary care as a dump for poorly planned dentistry.
What you will be able to do
- 1Decide when primary care is enough and when another service must see the patient
- 2Use urgent suspected-cancer and emergency routes without over-calling everything as two-week wait
- 3Write a referral that a receiving clinician can act on: history, findings, radiographs, medical list
- 4Explain to the patient what happens next and what you will still do in the meantime
