A 1-hour course on who may do what in a UK dental practice: registration, additional skills, supervision, and what to do when a task sits outside your title.
Course aim
Give every team member a working habit of checking their own scope before they pick up a task, and of asking for help instead of improvising.
What you will be able to do
- 1Explain why GDC registration and title set the legal boundary for clinical tasks
- 2Distinguish core duties, additional skills, and work that needs a prescription or supervision
- 3Refuse or escalate a task that sits outside your scope, indemnity or competence
- 4Describe how reception and managers still affect patient safety even when they are not GDC-registered
Suitable for: the whole team, including reception and practice managers.
Always follow the current GDC Scope of Practice for your registered title, your indemnity, and local protocols. This course is knowledge CPD. It is not GDC accreditation.
