A 1-hour course on moving boxes, equipment and — when it happens — people, without wrecking your back or dropping a compressor on a foot.
Course aim
Give the team a TILE-based way to plan lifts, use the kit you already have, and stop ‘heroic’ carries of gypsum bags up the stairs.
What you will be able to do
- 1Apply TILE: task, individual, load, environment before you lift
- 2Use team lifts, trolleys and breaking-down loads instead of a single heroic carry
- 3Describe safer posture and why twisting with a heavy load fails
- 4Know when a patient or collapsed person is a handling task for trained help, not a rugby tackle
Suitable for: the whole team, including reception and practice managers.
Always follow current HSE manual-handling guidance and your written assessments. Where the law and your assessment require practical training, this course is the knowledge layer only.
